Starting a YouTube channel or becoming a social media influencer is all the rage today. Everyone has considered starting a YouTube, and everyone looks up to an influencer of some sort. While many of these influencers create entertaining, lighthearted content, few challenge themselves and are vulnerable in the way Jax Fanucci is. Jax is a 28-year-old who documents her recovery from anorexia on YouTube and has created a tremendous movement in the process.
Being vulnerable enough to share her battles with anorexia on YouTube has been very impactful for Jax. She’s been able to inspire others in their anorexia recovery by documenting her own journey and has been a vital resource for others who aren’t fortunate enough to have a strong support system around them.
While Jax had the constant support of her mother and medical support team, it’s been a difficult journey for her. Her anorexia and excessive exercising left her in a wheelchair and on crutches for a year and a half, she’s had to re-learn how to digest food and is still unable to run to this day. Even with all of the trauma she’s experienced in her life, Jax is still excited for what’s in store for her in her career.
Along with her YouTube venture, Jax works with her family running the UAE’s largest kid’s active lifestyle program, and is in the midst of creating a video series exploring her home city of Dubai. All of the years that anorexia took from Jax have inspired her to go all-in on entrepreneurship, and no amount of uncertainty or risk will be able to deter her from becoming ultra-successful.
Jax admits that entrepreneurship is challenging, and overcoming her own insecurities and second-guessing has still been hard despite her full commitment to YouTube and her family’s youth lifestyle program. But, with the challenges come extremely rewarding experiences, and she’s fallen in love with the feelings of self-confidence, love, and admiration she’s developed for herself and those around her as a result of entrepreneurship.
Whether it’s been her battle recovering from anorexia or her new ventures in entrepreneurship, Jax understands the importance of overcoming a failure or a relapse to move onto something bigger and better. She’s a firm believer that life doesn’t work against you, rather it works for you. As someone who’s dealt with an incredible amount of hardship and has overcome it all, Jax Fanucci is living proof that there is something better in store no matter what you’re going through.
