Although women are making strides across society to advance in everything from higher education to holding executive positions on corporate boards, there is still plenty of room for improvement and encouraging women to dream big – really big. That’s probably why it’s been found that women will not apply for jobs unless they are 100% (or 120%) qualified for them in their mind, when compared to their male counterparts.
Women still feel they need to operate in a more background-style role, only stepping into the limelight when they feel they are confident they can perform. The problem is this hesitation and dreaming ‘small’ kind of mindset is what is keeping so many female entrepreneurs from hitting the double-digit earning mark every month.
Understanding all-too-well what it felt like to be trapped in a job and a life she didn’t love, Steph Gorton had to decide: dive into the unknown and dare to dream big, or stay in the backseat and continue with the sustained unhappiness. Steph chose to take matters into her own hands, proving everyone wrong after building and selling her first 6-figure startup in just under 3-years.
Now, Steph is committed to showing female entrepreneurs everywhere that they can do the same.
“It’s not that women aren’t equipped with the skills they need to be 6 or 7-figure earners; it’s that they don’t believe that they have those skills,” said Steph. “Society has taught women to be humble, will excusing the male ego, which makes so many women terrified of putting themselves out there and dreaming big. That’s where I come into the picture: to show these women that they can have their cake and eat it, too.”
Defying the Odds
Steph has gone onto build a half-million-dollar mastermind style coaching business in just under 12-months. Having coached over 300 women to successfully grow and scale their businesses to $10k in months and beyond, Steph knows that she has a system for attaining results. Due in part to her fiery and fearless approach to business, Steph wants other women to know that they can take control over their financial destiny and dive headfirst into their business dreams.
“Dreaming is not something just reserved for men,” said Steph. “It’s up to us as women to change the narrative and seize the moment for ourselves. I want all women out there today to dare to start dreaming. If you don’t dream big for yourself, no one else is going to.”
A Successful Case Study
Steph was able to hit the 6-figure mark after just 12-months in business when she first arrived to entrepreneurialism. Selling the business to start her coaching platform, she was able to hit 7-figures just shy of 18-months. She is now dreaming even bigger for her future business plans, while spending time to coach and mentor other women dreaming of a similar future for themselves.
Steph believes in both giving back while working hard to create a business empire that will live on for decades.
