Ashwini Ganapathi:<\/strong> Working with brands such as Intel and Franklin Templeton Investments, I have gained so much knowledge regarding social media marketing. As an intern, the most important thing to identify is the target market. With this information you can pinpoint the exact social media platforms to implement. For example Franklin Templeton generated a more mature client base so Facebook was a primary method of marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ashwini Ganapathi:<\/strong> My main focus right now is pursuing a career in marketing. As a third year Business Administration major, I have had the opportunity to explore various career paths. After many trials and tribulations I found that my passion lies in marketing. As a woman of color who has had experience in the corporate world, I have witnessed the lack of diversity in marketing campaigns. Through my own experience, I hope to create a more inclusive space and experience in the business world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ashwini Ganapathi:<\/strong> As an Indian American, I grew up with standards and expectations thrust upon me. My parents as well as my sister all pursued STEM careers. Being the youngest, my parents and community expected me to follow in their footsteps but I knew that my strengths lie elsewhere. After enrolling myself in a marketing class in highschool, everything made sense to me. I was passionate, inspired and most importantly- happy. I knew that with experience I could apply my skills and learn with peers who had the same passion as myself. Internships as well as my university\u2019s curriculum reinforced my drive to pursue Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ashwini Ganapathi:<\/strong> I believe that my strength is empathy. Growing up in a competitive academic environment, I was conditioned to view people’s weaknesses as leverage for my own benefit. From a young age, I never possessed this mentality. In fact, I was able to empathize with people’s struggles and try to understand their circumstances in life. Rather than this being my weakness, it became my tool to connect with others. I think as times change, businesses no longer want to have a cold and calculated environment, rather employees who are able to connect with each other.
