As a small business that supports other small businesses, it\u2019s safe to say <\/span>Jordan Quinn<\/span><\/a>, owner of socialQ, was impacted by the pandemic. Even as an entrepreneur in the digital space– a space that some would argue saw less effect than most– there\u2019s no denying that countless Ontario lockdowns would take its toll on any B2B business model. It\u2019s an unfortunate ripple effect but certainly not one that held her down for long.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Quinn\u2019s bread and butter is influencer marketing. With a roster of more than 15 top-tier parenting bloggers across Canada, she has carved a name and a niche for herself in the canadian influencer space. Since the rise of Covid-19, however; she has expanded her business to include other revenue generating arms, most notably in social media management.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the influencer side of my business, brands were wary of investing large sums of money into influencer relations, especially towards the start of the pandemic,\u201d Quinn explains, \u201cBut In a weird way I\u2019m grateful for their hesitation. It pushed me to start the second arm of my business, in social media management.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite the initial hardships, Quinn explains her good fortune stating that as the social media management side of her business began to really take off, the influencer side picked back up in tandem.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBrands thankfully began to realize the power of influencer relations and specifically the mommy blogger\u2019s ability to influence purchasing decisions in households,\u201d Quinn adds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

By that point, however; Quinn was paving a path for herself as a Toronto-based social media manager, handling the day-to-day content creation and engagement management of many small business\u2019s accounts. Months later she released a social media course entitled BossUp with one of her influencers, Kelsi Kendel <\/span>(@kelsikendel)<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis pandemic has emphasized the importance of getting online, and getting online properly!\u201d Quinn states,\u00a0 \u201cI feel my work adds value to the businesses with which I work, as it\u2019s my responsibility to identify the brand voice, and communicate it effectively to my client\u2019s target audience. I help build their community, and my hope, with each of my clients is that they see the conversion rate from followers to paying clients.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Quinn explains that she and Kendel came together to create a course that was more affordable than her social media management. She wanted to provide information to as many small businesses as possible so that they too could thrive online.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked how she manages to oversee so many projects she simply answered: Automation and delegation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t run 3+ businesses without schedulers and CRM tools. And I certainly couldn\u2019t run 3+ businesses without the help of Katelyn Beer, my Senior Talent Manager and Whitney Radacina, my Virtual Assistant. Teamwork certainly makes this dream work. And I am proud of the way we have pivoted through a pandemic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
